Valcare is proud to announce that we have officially been awarded Accountability verification as part of the international Quality Improvement System (QIS) programme. This is the highest level of verification that can be presented to organisations who adhere to a set of strict criteria and go through a cycle of quality verification.

QIS is facilitated by the UK based organisation, Viva and in South Africa by Connect Network.

“As Valcare’s QIS Mentor, it was a privilege for me to journey with them and to see how they worked as a team to integrate all the QIS principles with excellence,” says Mariëtte Jacobs, QIS Coordinator for Connect Network.

The QIS evaluations included:

  • A baseline assessment of the organisation against the QIS standards,
  • six multiple-day training sessions presented by experts in the module area,
  • mentoring sessions to assist in the implementation of improvements and,
  • an external verification of an accreditation level by local and international accreditors.

The training and evaluation topics included: Project Planning and Design, Financial Accountability, Governance, Child Protection, People Care and Child Wellbeing.

We are honoured to be recognised amongst the top organisations in the world when it comes to quality systems and service delivery in the nonprofit space. It is of utmost importance to continuously benchmark and improve ourselves, in order to activate and enable social change, effectively and with integrity,” says Brendan Smith, COO of Valcare.
