Hundreds of healthcare workers in the Paarl valley recently received coffee, juice, cookies and encouragement from caring locals, as part of the new Love My Valley movement.
Love My Valley is an initiative of Valcare in partnership with various local businesses, organisations and individuals to promote a lifestyle of kindness and compassion in the area.
The first project’s aim was to show appreciation to local healthcare workers who have been working tirelessly on the frontlines of the Covid-19 battle for more than a year. The public donated towards the campaign which in the end sponsored 600 cups of coffee, 100 freshly pressed juices and 650 cookies.
To support the local community further, all the donated products were supplied by community-focused businesses and organisations: Fleet Coffee, Raw Squeeze and Made by Mosaic.
Doctors, nurses, office employees, cleaning staff and caterers at Mediclinic Paarl and Paarl Provincial Hospital were surprised and delighted by the gesture. They had the following to say:
Only Through Collaboration
Thank you to everyone who donated towards Love My Valley and helped to spread the word. A special word of thanks to Pure Legacy and the KWV Foundation who made great contributions to sponsor the first project.
